LE VISAGE HUMAIN

A dance theatre performance to music by Robert de Visée and Charles Hurel.
Choreography and dance Karin Modigh
Theorbo and baroque guitar Magnus Andersson
Duration 50 min

Accompanied by French baroque music from the pens of Robert de Visée and Charles Hurel (both lute and guitar virtuosos at the court of Louis XIV during the 17th century), a rich tale dances forth.

Through the exacting movements of the baroque, allemandes, chaconnes, sarabands and minuets create a musical dance drama for both eye and ear. The journey takes us through space and time, but also through the full range of feelings and emotions that can be found within us all.

In Le Visage Humain, we are immersed in a world of baroque gesture where 350 year old music and dance are performed from a contemporary perspective by two internationally active baroque artists.

This is dance and music that came into being during a time when all forms of artistic expression were intimately interwoven into a dynamic process of give and take. With Karin Modigh and Magnus
Andersson, they are brought to life once again, with virtuosity, joy
and genuine curiosity.
