Nordic Baroque Dancers consists of members with diverse backgrounds and experience from different genres, but with a high level of specialization in dance from the 17th and 18th centuries. We collaborate with choreographers, musicians, artists and organisers who share our view on the baroque arts as highly relevant to us today.

Romain is based in Paris, France.
Charlotte Bell studied at the Legat School of Russian Ballet (GB) before moving onto the Ballet Rambert School in London. In 1986 she joined Tanz Forum Köln and then remained in Germany to work with a multitude of international choreographers and directors such as Jochen Ulrich, Philippe Talard, Olaf Schmidt, Jai Gonzalez, Jacopo Godani, Boris von Poser and Sven Severin. Her formative teachers in baroque dance include Sigrid T‘Hooft, Ingolf Collmar and Nicolle Klinkeberg, as well as courses given by Marie-Geneviève Massé, Barbara Segal, Kaj Sylegård and Hubert Hazebroucq. As a member of Sigrid T‘Hooft‘s company Corpo Barocco she has appeared in Händel‘s Radamisto 2009/10, Amadigi 2012 and Imeneo in Göttingen in 2016. She has also worked on smaller productions with Milo Momm and Nicolle Klinkeberg.

Guillaume Jablonka trained as a ballet dancer in Strasbourg, made his debut in Hannover and then moved to Lille and Ballet du Nord under the direction of Jean Guizerix and Wilfride Piollet. He discovered baroque dance while working for Company L’Eventail (Marie-Geneviève Massé), and then performed with Ensemble Donaïres (Ana Yepes) and as a soloist in Sigrid T’Hooft’s choreographies for Radamisto by Händel. In 2006 Guillaume founded the company Divertimenty, for which he works as a choreographer, dancer and teacher. His most recent choreographies are the pantomime ballet Little Red Riding Hood for Festival Baroque de Pontoise (2014) and The Venetian Ballet Backstage for Opéra Comique de Paris (2015). He also conducts research, mainly focusing on reconstruction of the divertissements and the pantomime ballets of the 1782 Ferrère manuscript.

Valerie Lauer completed her dance education at the International Ballet Academy Berlin in 2015. As a student she took part in the Dance World Cup in Paris and received the first award in the category solo character dance. Besides ballet productions like Giselle and The Nutcracker, she has choreographed and staged the musical show One Night of Movie 2018 at Heimathafen Neukölln, Berlin. Through her colleague and former teacher Adrian Navarro, Valerie got in touch with baroque dance, for which she instantly started to nourish a passion. In summer 2018 she was a scholarship holder of Vadstena Akademien and danced in the production Solen och Nordstjärnan, choreographed and staged by Karin Modigh. Valerie is also dance teacher and a certified Pilates Trainer.

Robert Le Nuz
Trained in dance by Wilfride Piollet, Jean Guizerix, Stéphane Prince and Susanne Stortz, Robert Le Nuz graduated as a physiotherapist in 1996 and as a ballet teacher in 2004. As a professional dancer, he has performed at the Comédie-Française and the Paris Opéra, as well as on tour in France and across Europe. He works regularly with baroque dance choreographers such as Marie-Geneviève Massé/Compagnie L’Eventail (Don Juan and Voyage en Europe) and Gudrun Skamletz (Cadmus et Hermione), and has equally worked with Françoise Denieau (Rameau – maître à danser, Vénus et Adonis and Rinaldo). As assistant to the choreographer in opera productions, Robert trains dancers and singers. As a disciple of Wilfride Piollet, he uses her method (Technique des Barres Flexibles) to teach in ballet academies, as well as dance institutions for qualified dance teachers. He also develops courses on anatomy and functional dance analysis for students and dance instructors.

Andrea Miltnerová is a British dancer and choreographer of Czech origin. In addition to her contemporary dance creations, Andrea specialises in baroque dance and its creative fusion with other techniques. She was born and trained in London and came to Prague to dance with the Ballet of the National Theatre. She also collaborates as a performer with various Czech and foreign choreographers.
Her contemporary dance solo Dance of the Magnetic Ballerina was selected by the prestigious European network Aerowaves as one of their priority performances for 2013, and has been successfully presented at numerous festivals and theatres throughout Europe.
Her deep interest in the baroque led her to collaborate on the reconstruction of baroque operas and to create her own performances based on movement analysis and ethnochoreographic research, for example The Baroque Body Revealed, Pentimento and Vertical Horizontal. She has worked as a director, choreographer and dancer with the early music ensembles Collegium 1704 and Collegium Marianum. She has danced in baroque operas at the National Theatre in Prague, at the baroque Castle Theatre in Český Krumlov, at the International Opera Festival Smetana’s Litomyšl and in festivals in Germany, Slovenia and Hungary. She regularly worked with French choreographer Françoise Denieau, performing in her productions throughout France, including Paris (Opéra Comique) and Versailles (Opéra Royale), in Luxembourg, Switzerland (Lausanne), London (The Barbican) and Moscow (Bolshoi).
Andrea is based in Prague, Czech Republic.
Adrian Navarro graduated at the Akademie des Tanzes in Mannheim, Germany, and was a scholarship holder of the Dance Foundation Birgit Keil. He was dancing with aalto ballett theater Essen, the Gothenburg Ballet, Karlsruhe Ballet and Royal Swedish Ballet. He was working with choreographers such as Patrice Bart, Mats Ek, Chistian Spuck, Jorma Uotinen and Peter Wright. Already during his career as a classical and contemporary dancer his interest in Baroque dance has awakened which lead him to take part in workshops with Irène Ginger and Ana Yepes. In 2011 Adrian took part in the cooperation between Nordic Baroque Dancers and Compagnie L’Éventail and performed on this occasion Marie-Geneviève Massé’s Don Juan at Drottningholms Slottsteater. In 2012 he also danced in productions of the companies Corpo Barocco (Sigrid T’Hooft) and l’Éventail (Marie-Geneviève Massé), with which he performed Jason in Médée et Jason at Opéra de Versailles and Opéra Comique de Paris.

Tove was educated at the Ballet Academy in Stockholm, and found baroque dance when she got to know Karin Modigh and her work in 2011. From the palette of being a contemporary dancer, she uses the synergy between the baroque and the contemporary fields of dance. Tove has worked with choreographers such as Malin Skoglund, Björn Säfsten and Claire Parsons (SE), Ina Christel Johannessen and Hege Haagenrud (NO), and Cao Duc Toan (VN). She has performed in the Nordic countries as well as Japan, Mexico and Italy. She is also a member of the dance collective Nomodaco, where she creates projects in different formats, and she has taken part in several works co-produced by NorrlandsOperan in Umeå. Tove enjoys working with film as well as stage, and is together with Petrus Sjövik director and dancer of Outside In, a dance film which has been shown on Swedish National Television and was elected Best Film at Dance for Camera West in Los Angeles 2012. She has received grants from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Sandrews Foundation, Fredrika Bremer Foundation and the Region of Västerbotten.

Lena Cederwall Broberg
Lena Cederwall Broberg is artistic director and founder of the dance programme at Löftadalen Conservatory. She holds a degree in dance and dance pedagogy from the University College of Dance in Stockholm. She has a wealth of experience as a dancer and choreographer within modern/ contemporary dance, musicals, TV and family shows in Sweden. She also holds a choreology diploma in Benesh Movement Notation from the Royal Academy of Dance in London. For many years, Lena was the rehearsal director and assistant of Ivo Cramér, and today she is responsible for maintaining his artistic legacy through the Cramér Foundation.

Camilla Kandare is a historian and dancer/teacher. She holds a Ph.D. in Dance History and Theory from the University of California, Riverside, and a degree in Dance Pedagogy with a specialization in Early Dance from the University College of Dance, Stockholm. Camilla has studied baroque dance in France, Italy, USA, and Sweden with teachers including Catherine Turocy, Cecilia Gracio Moura, Françoise Denieau and Nathalie van Parys. Between 2001 and 2009 she was at the Department of Dance, University of California Riverside, where among other things she taught dance and choreographed for the Collegium Musicum. Currently, Camilla teaches regular classes in baroque dance at Balettakademien, Stockholm. She is an internationally active researcher specializing on issues of embodiment and movement protocol in the seventeenth century, particularly in the context of Queen Christina of Sweden’s residency in Rome. Camilla also has long experience teaching mind-body exercise and has certifications in Pilates, Yoga, Gyrokinesis, Garuda, and Yamuna Body Rolling.

Anna has worked as producer at Dansens Hus in Stockholm and Dancenet Sweden. She also worked with educational programmes at the Dance Museum, The Royal Swedish Opera and Drottningholms Slottsteater, as well as the structuring of several dance archives. Most recently she spent a year as Regional Dance Advisor in Västerbotten, based at the NorrlandsOpera in Umeå. Anna has studied dance, theatre and art history at the Stockholm University. Anna gladly takes baroque dance classes in her spare time and is also able to read Feuillet notation.
Anna is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
